We’ve discovered 11 of Meghan Markle’s favourite bags, including bags from big fashion houses such as Gucci to brands we’re sure you’re going to come to know and love, Meghan’s collection is not only varied in price but also in style. From bags that show a royal influence to bags that tell a story, from classic structured silhouettes to leather tassels, Meghan Markle’s bag collection might just surprise you.

1) The Strathberry Midi Tote £725 / $775

The Strathberry Midi Tote is notably one of Meghan’s favourite bags, so much so she owns the bag in two colours; the Bridle Leather Tan and the Burgundy/Navy/Vanilla. The structured rectangle silhouette offers a classic and timeless style whilst the Strathberry signature bar close adds a modern, young twist.

The Strathberry Midi Tote can be worn in multiple ways: by hand, which is how we see Meghan wearing it, or you can carry it over the shoulder by using the strap. The Strathberry Midi Tote could be the perfect work bag you’ve been looking for. The bar gives the bag an edge whilst still remaining minimal and chic. The ideal bag for those looking to add a bag that is equally beautiful and practical to their collection.

2) Strathberry East/West Mini £455 / $645

Strathberry EastWest Mini Bottle Green
The Strathberry East/West Mini

The Strathberry East/West Mini encapsulates the same fundamental style as the Strathberry Midi Tote: chic, classic and something a little different. However, The East/West Mini transitions much easier to a bag that can be worn both during the day and at night.

With the gold chain strap, the east/west mini can be worn across the body and over the shoulder. We love how once again the bag is defined by a strong structured silhouette, it would be the perfect bag to pull a loose-fitting outfit together to give a casual yet style-conscious – look.

A main feature of the bag is the signature Strathberry bar which brings an abundance of character to an otherwise traditional bag. The gold chain strap and Strathberry bar contrast beautifully against the bottle green leather. The perfect mini bag for any collection.

 3) Mulberry Small Zipped Bayswater $1,550 / £1,250

Mulberry Small Zipped Bayswater Black Small Classic Grain
Mulberry Small Zipped Bayswater

The Bayswater is Mulberry’s most iconic bag, the Small Zipped Bayswater is a new style added to the eponymous collection. Unlike the original Bayswater, the Small Zipped Bayswater has a Postman’s lock to secure the two belted straps (rather than the original flap) as well as the added zip detail. Although the bag is technically the small zipped Bayswater, it is still very much a practical and good size. You can confidently carry all your essentials with the added comfort of knowing they are secure thanks to the added zip.

Meghan Markle opted for the Small Zipped Bayswater in black classic-grained leather which would be our choice too. The Small Zipped Bayswater would work well for those who don’t enjoy changing out the bags often, with its sophisticated structure and a colour that can be worn daily, it’s easy to envision The Small Zipped Bayswater worn to work and then an evening meal.

4) Demellier The Mini Venice £295 / $395

Demellier The Mini Venice
The Demellier Mini Venice

Crafted in luxurious cowhide leather, the Mini Venice from the brand Demellier is a lightweight cross-body, over-the-shoulder or even handle-held strap bag depending on your preference. The bag differs from Meghan Markle’s bag collection due to its interesting shape. The bag’s colour, forest grain, however, is keeping in line with Meghan’s bags as she tends to wear predominantly darker colours.

The Demellier Mini Venice includes beautiful details including its intentional dark stitching, gold metal and a playful tassel dangling from the clasp. Overall the bag feels youthful and is a much more casual choice from Meghan’s collection. The Demellier Mini Venice would be an invaluable bag to add to your collection with multiple ways to be worn, it would be a great companion for multiple outfits.

5) Valentino Garavani One Stud shoulder bag $3,550 / £2,390

Valentino Garavani’s One Stud bag

Introduced for SS22, Valentino Garavani’s One Stud bag is one of Meghan Markle’s latest and most controversial choices of bag. Shying away from her typically darker-coloured bags, the Valentino Garavani’s One Stud bag brings immediate vibrancy with its gold detailing and white soft leather.  The One Stud Bag is a lightweight cross-body or over-the-shoulder strap bag depending on your preference. The eyes immediately are drawn towards the large golden stud which takes center stage in the design of the bag.

This studded detail takes an otherwise traditional bag and turns it into something with an edge – which seems to be a recurring pattern with Meghan Markle’s bag choices. The envelope silhouette means all your essentials will fit comfortably. We can see the One Stud bag become increasingly popular in the summer months, the perfect white chain bag for those holiday looks.

6) Medium Lady D-Lite In Black Cannage Embroidery £3,500.00 / $4,900.00

Medium Lady D-Lite In Black Cannage Embroidery
Medium Lady D-Lite In Black Cannage Embroidery

Fit for a princess: The Lady D-Lite bag combines Dior’s vision of elegance and beauty. Unlike Meghan Markle’s lesser-known branded bags, The Christian Dior signature sits proudly across the front of the bag accompanied by the ‘D.I.O.R.’ charms, there’s no mistaking the bags luxury brand. However, like most of Megan’s bags, the Dior D-lite bag can be carried by hand or worn crossbody, the strap can be removed and added easily by its clips. Whilst there are multiple variations of the Dior D-lite, Meghan’s choice is the Black Cannage Embroidery D-lite in Medium.

The Lady D-lite was created for the SS20 collection as a contemporary evolution of the iconic Lady Dior. In 1995 on the opening night of the Dior exhibition in Paris where the Chouchou bag (now called Lady Dior) would be showcased, Princess Diana wore the Lady Dior for the first time. Which quickly influenced the bag’s culture from its name to an ever-growing array of designs. This homage to Lady Diana makes Meghan Markles Lady D-lite much more of an intentional and treasured bag within her collection.

7) Victoria Beckham Powder Box leather tote £1590 / $1737

The Victoria Beckham Powder Box leather tote has been seen worn by Meghan Markle on a few occasions. The bag stands out from her collection for its much more contemporary design. The bag is made of calfskin leather in the colour Chocolate and is adorned with silver hardware unlike the majority of Meghan’s bags which include gold detailing. The bag also differs from Meghan’s other bags as it can only be worn in one way, by hand. Inside the bag, you will find an internal mirror which feels very fitting for the vintage-inspired design.

Despite the bag’s small silhouette, it will actually fit a purse, keys and a standard phone – we can’t vouch for the Max iPhones.  Although the bag has an unusual shape, the minimal detailing and neutral colour mean that the bag pairs well with both muted and louder outfits.
The Victoria Beckham Powder Box is definitely an interesting bag to add to your collection but we can see the attraction. The powder box bag’s name and nature feel very feminine and ‘proper’, which is fitting for a member of the royal family.

The bag also comes in satin in both the colours black and navy.

8) Mulberry Small Darley Black Small Classic Grain £695 / $870

Another classic bag from Mulberry is The Small Darley. The detailing very much echoes that of the Bayswater, with Mulberry’s signature Postman’s lock and also the chain shoulder strap. However, The Small Darley would be better suited for an evening look with its more petite, lightweight shape.

We love the versatility of The Small Darley, the elegant envelope silhouette can also be worn as a clutch as the chain strap can be detached. Meghan again opted for the classic black-grain leather version of the bag. You’ve heard the saying that every woman should own a black dress, well we believe every woman should own a black bag in their luxury collection. Mulberry’s Small Darley could be that bag for you and your collection.

9) GUCCI Dionysus super mini textured-leather shoulder bag £840 / $1100

Gucci’s Dionysus super mini shoulder bag gets its name from the Greek God Dionysus. Dionysus is a nature god of fruitfulness. He’s well known as the ‘freak’ god, the one who doesn’t quite fit in. Coincidence

The bag itself has a double-headed clasp and is made from textured leather in Italy. This super mini version of Gucci’s Dionysus bag still remains practical with it being able to hold your daily essentials such as your phone and keys. Meghan Markle opted for the Gucci Dionysus super mini shoulder bag in black leather, however, on the interior of the bag you’ll find brown suede. The bag can be worn on the shoulder or across the body with its chain strap.

The snake detail on the clasp makes this bag one of the most daring in Meghan’s collection, stepping away from tradition but stepping further into the world of luxury brands. The Dionysus collection is recognised as one of the most popular from Gucci.

10) Celine Cuir Triomphe £2250 / $2950

Celine Chain Shoulder Bag Cuir Triomphe in Shiny Calfskin
Celine Chain Shoulder Bag Cuir Triomphe in Shiny Calfskin

The Celine Cuir Triomphe is another Chain Shoulder Bag from Meghan’s collection.  The shiny calfskin makes the bag look extremely sleek and differs from the grained leather Meghan often chooses. The chunky gold strap adds to the overall luxe look of the bag, complimenting the black beautifully. Inside you’ll find a black lambskin lining with a Triomphe snap button closure.

Meghan Markle was seen wearing The Celine Cuir Triomphe this year, 2022, and we can see why. With its overall grunge / goth-Esque look it is very much a bag of the moment sitting right on trend. However, the bag follows all the traditional blueprints of a classic chain bag that is timeless.

11) Cult Gaia – Nia Beaded Leather Clutch £455 / $428

Last but not least the Cult Gaia Nia Beaded Leather Clutch is the designated wild card in Meghan’s bag collection. Most obviously, it has no chain strap nor can it be worn over the shoulder. Constructed of butter-soft kappa leather and then adorned with wooden beads the structured clutch is a staple summer bag. The warm chestnut colour and the wooden beads give the bag an earthy sophistication.

The Cult Gaia Nia Beaded Leather Clutch is a timeless clutch bag to own, whilst it might not be a year-round clutch (for some personal styles), it would last you every summer. Seen worn by Meghan herself with a navy and white outfit, the bag looked effortlessly chic. So whether you find yourself a self-proclaimed boho enthusiast or prefer a minimalist wardrobe, the Cult Gaia Nia Beaded Leather Clutch makes the perfect summer companion.
