Chanel is a luxury brand that regularly increases its prices on key, classic items and beyond to maintain prestige, not-very-obtainable perception. In summary, the latest price increase from Chanel has mostly been targeted at their classic range of bags including the Classic Flap, 2.55 and Chanel Boy Bag. The Trendy CC top handle bag has also been affected and in a smaller way, the Chanel 19 which is often deemed a more ‘trendy’ piece as opposed to a classic. The 22 bag remains unaffected by price increases, possibly hinting at this bags trendy ness vs. classic pieces. The larger-sized classic bags have been disproportionately affected with much bigger % increases than smaller models and may hint towards Chanel capitalizing on the current big bag trend set for 2024.
How often does Chanel increase their prices?
In more recent years, Chanel has increased their prices two to three times a year. The rises are becoming more frequent as economic factors are driving up costs of production, but also demand has grown over the years.
